Marc de Vries is working as the ePSIplus Network Analyst focusing on the Law and Regulation theme (PSI re-use). He holds master degrees in law and business economics. He has been active in the area of PSI ever since 1996, when he was detached to the European Commission (DG INFSO) for a period of 4 years.

Working on the Green Paper on access to and exploitation of PSI and accompanying projects within the framework of INFO 2000 he has gained in depth knowledge in the policy and market issues surrounding PSI exploitation.

He has led many European studies (EU report on combating illegal and harmful content (1997), BESTS (1998), EU consumer law study (2000), eJure (2003)). Furthermore he has been a partner in the ePSINet and ePSINet-CEE projects and he was involved in the MEPSIR study, preparing for the review of the PSI Directive in 2008.

Being a senior fellow researcher at the University of Tilburg 1 day a week), he has strong ties within academic communities (both national and international). Also he has an extensive network within the Dutch PSI community both in the public and private sector. He has produced numerous reports, books and articles on access to and exploitation of PSI.
