24th APPSI Meeting

APPSI publish documents from the 23rd and 24th Meetings

The UK Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information (APPSI) met on the 17 September 2009 in London. The documents considered at the 24th meeting have been published along with the minutes of the 23rd APPSI Meeting held on the 23 July 2009. The announcement states that the highlights of the 24th meeting include:

  • A presentation from the Office of Public Sector Information, part of The National Archives on its enhanced regulatory role
  • A presentation from the Shareholder Executive on developments relating to Ordnance Survey's new business model (The presentation has not been published)
  • A presentation from Chris Taggart, developer of www.openlylocal.com, a website that opens up local government information.

The Chair of APPSI Professor David Rhind CBE has announced that Michael Wills, Minister of State for Justice has reappointed the following three members to the Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information:

  • Mike Batty - Expert in geospatial information
  • Hector MacQueen - Representative of Scotland and Scottish interests
  • John Ponting - PSI expert.
