IWG-Netzwerk promotes PSI Communication

The German IWG-Netzwerk Association briefs the Economic Commission of Geoinformation

The German IWG-Netzwerk Association reports on a presentation made to German Economic Commission of Geoinformation (GIW) on the 13 May 2009. The announcement states:

“10. Sitzung der Kommission für Geoinformationswirtschaft (GIW-Kommission)

Hannover, Mai 2009. Am 13. Mai 2009 fand die 10. Sitzung der Kommission für Geoinformationswirtschaft (GIW-Kommission) in Hannover statt. In der GIW-Kommission des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Technologie (BMWi) setzen Wirtschaft und Behörden partnerschaftlich Projekte mit dem Ziel um, das enorme Marktpotenzial der vorhandenen Geodaten zu erschließen und den Mehrwert von Geoinformationen zu steigern. Spitzenverbände der Deutschen Industrie sind ihre Mitglieder, wobei das Branchenspektrum von der Werbung bis zu den Baustoffen reicht. IWG-Vorstandsmitglied Michael Fanning stellte hier das IWG-Netzwerk mit seinem branchenübergreifenden Ansatz vor.”

On the13 May 2009 the 10th Meeting of the Economic Commission for Geoinformation (GIW-Commission) was held in Hanover. IWG board member Michael Fanning presented the IWG-network with its cross-industry approach to the GIW."

The presentation titled: Das IWG–Netzwerk e.V. stellt sich vor! ( 16 slides PDF Format ) outlines the mission and objectives of the IWG-Netzwerk and how it relates to the activities of the PSI Alliance, The European Public Sector Information Portal and the European Commission with respect to the re-use of public sector information. The presentation also reports on the European Commission’s Communication published on 7 May 2009.
