The Minister in his opening address stated the technological developments have enabled public sector information to be made available to everyone and that the Greek Government supported:

  • The re-use of public sector information and the citizens rights to that information
  • Free access for Citizens
  • That where charges are made for public sector information that these should be at marginal cost and not for profit

The Minister cited as an example of the Greek Governments policy with regard to public sector information that access to legislation has been free since 1979.
